Working with principals, Paul McAlpine and his son and business partner, Ethan McAlpine, as well as their team of professionals, we have recently refreshed my 22-year old home. This included the buildout of a two-level, 2000 square foot addition as well as refurbishing the mother-in-law suite, master bedroom/bathroom, new wood flooring through the whole house and new windows encased in new limestone. For more entertainment they created two spectacular outdoor living areas that allowed us to carry the fun outdoors. The end result is a highly integrated, multifaceted home that looks just as it should: incredible!
Together, we have also rehabbed two smaller homes and built a 5,000+ square foot party barn from the ground up. Our fifth project together entails transitioning the barn from a party venue to a residence. Through these efforts, I have observed the varied abilities of Heritage Building Group and have come to depend upon what differentiates this company. For example:
* Communication and planning are true strengths; I am always kept “in the know “when it comes to what decisions are needed and what task or effort is coming next.
* Paul, Ethan and their team of skilled tradesmen are detailed oriented, highly focused, deadline driven and hardworking while holding themselves to the highest standards imaginable.
* The team at Heritage Building Group looks for efficiencies and innovative strategies at every turn. Ethan operated a drone to capture regular footage of our projects for both quality control and documentation purposes. Paul led the effort to research and build out a geo-thermal HVAC system which will allow us to take advantage of tax deductions and in the end, save money.
* Finally, this is a group of genuinely good people who lead with a personal touch which seems to naturally include doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

I have worked with Paul McAlpine of Heritage Building group so many times, I’ve lost count. That’s because whenever I have a project to do, the ONLY person who comes to mind is Paul. I have worked with other builders, and Paul breaks the mold. He’s nothing like any other builder I’ve known or any of my friends have known. To start, his quality is excellent, he’s prompt, professional, pragmatic, experienced, responsive, honest, trustworthy, reliable, runs a tight/clean job and most of all, I ALWAYS get something that is beautifully beyond my expectations at the end. There is no problem that he can’t solve. Even when the problem isn’t really his. Plain and simple, he’s just not a normal builder. He’s a great builder, and that’s not normal. If you are looking for a builder who doesn’t respond, doesn’t show up when promised, does a poor quality job, overcharges and has no clue what he is doing, then look elsewhere. Heritage is not the place for you. You will be sorely disappointed.
